Frequently Asked Questions

The maximum power allowed for use on roads and pathways is 250 watts. This is quite sufficient for the bikes to reach the legal limit of 25kph before the motor must cut out. If the bike is fitted with a throttle that will be restricted to 6kph.

The range of a standard 36 volt 10.4 amp hour battery will vary according to conditions such as wind, hills, speed, power level, weight of rider etc.  Most people report a range of 50 kilometres or more using the maximum assistance level available.

A 36 volt 15.6 amp hour battery is expected to give a range of 75 kilometres or more. Larger capacity batteries are available as an option.

Ryder Electric Bikes come with a 2-year warranty on the bike and all non-consumable components, including the battery.

The Ryder Bike electric system has waterproof harnessing and is designed to ride even through rain.  It is not to be ridden through swollen creeks or rivers.

We recommend the bike has its first service at 3 months and thereafter every 12 months.

All bikes have Disc Brakes and some have Hydraulic Disc Brakes.

Yes.  This is not only designed to show you the way but also acts as an additional safety measure, so that you can be seen more readily.

We offer bikes with mid-drive motors or rear hub motors.  Both are excellent to ride.

Yes, we are an NDIS Provider.

We recommend you invest in a car bike rack which is rated for carrying electric bikes.  These racks are well designed and some can even be tilted with the bikes on them to enable access to the rear of a car hatchback or doors.  Some of these can also be locked on to the tow ball to reduce theft.

All Ryder electric bikes are pedal assist which means you have to pedal to make the bike work.   Pedalling is more fun, extends the range of your battery, extends the life of your motor, and extends your own life too.  Basically, it is exercise without the stress.

The best way to buy an ebike is to go to a store that has electric bikes on offer to view and take one  for a test ride.

We will listen to you to evaluate what you will be using the electric bike for. For some it is leisure and for others it is travelling or commuting.  We will then offer you a no obligation test ride on some Ryder Electric Bikes of different designs and price points so you gain a good understanding of what is available.  Our goal is to make the bikes fit the rider and be comfortable.
